Media Usage

The week I recorded was from February 8 – 14.
I found that my media usage is really scheduled. There are a few certain times each day that I will use a certain type of media ie. using the computer every morning to see what the weather will be like, listening to music on my commute to school, or every night when I start my assignments. These occasions differentiate from other parts of the day where I am forced to use certain media ie. in class when I need to use a computer to do work, or at work when I am forced to pick up the phone.

The computer is definitely my most used media, even if you take out the school usage it is still the most used media.

I'm not a big talker on my cellphone, I like to talk on it for a few minutes to make plans and thats it. I will occasionally have the conversations that go on for hours but this week my longest was 27 minutes.
• 1 hr 42 minutes

Texting is a glorious cellphone tool. Because of the way I talk on the phone I find it much more convenient to text then to talk.
• 54 text messages recieved
• 61 text messages sent

Books and magazines are the smallest media use. I'm not trying to make myself sound uneducated or illiterate, I just do not read much. The only times I read books, magazines, or newspapers is on the morning commute to school or when I get any of my subscriptions. None came this week.

Music is my one source of joy when I commute from place to place.
• 28 hours

Television and movies are a big portion of my media usage. Because of my lack of access to a television I watch all my Television and movies from other sources, I do not want to admit to watching them anywhere illegal so I will be vague.
• 10 hours

My final graph to show my media use in my everyday life will be posted on Tuesday when I hand it in
